Funding is provided for innovation projects in agriculture that implement knowledge transfer and networking between agricultural practice, consultancy and science. The concept of innovation is broadly defined: ‘development, trialling, testing of new processes, products, technologies, methods and services’. The innovation project is concrete and has high practical relevance. The innovation process is open-ended.
EIP projects are characterised by the active role of farmers and the strong practical relevance of the projects. The innovation projects in Schleswig-Holstein have been funded since mid-2015 as part of the second pillar of agricultural funding.
