From concept to reality: Ministry of Agriculture invests 4.3 million euros in nine innovation projects

Tensbüttel-Röst, August 10, 2023 - Schleswig-Holstein is setting new standards in agriculture: the Ministry of Agriculture, led by Minister Werner Schwarz, has given permission to proceed for the fourth round of the European Innovation Partnership for Agriculture (EIP Agri). As part of his summer tour, Minister Schwarz handed over nine funding decisions to pioneering and sustainable innovation projects in the agricultural sector on August 10. The projects, which are funded with a total amount of 4.3 million euros, mark an important step from theory to practical implementation.

Work of the Innovation Office EIP Agrar SH continues

Chamber of Agriculture once again awarded contract as innovation service provider for Schleswig-Holstein. Following a call for tenders in the fall of 2022, the Chamber of Agriculture was officially commissioned by the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Areas, Europe and Consumer Protection in December to continue its work as an innovation service provider in the agricultural sector in the new agricultural funding period.

"Grüne Innovationstage" des Zentrums für innovative Ernährungs-, Land- und Forstwirtschaft in Schleswig-Holstein e.V. (ZIEL-SH) gemeinsam u.a. mit dem Innovationsbüro EIP Agrar Schleswig-Holstein

Am ersten Tag steht eine Innovationsmesse auf dem Programm, die Start-ups und etablierte Agrar-Unternehmen mit Landwirtinnen und Landwirten zusammenbringen möchte. Es geht zum Beispiel um die Vermarktung spezieller Kulturen, die Verarbeitung von landwirtschaftlichen Nebenprodukten oder um die Nutzung von Klima- und Umweltschutzmaßnahmen als neue Einkommensquelle auf landwirtschaftlichen Betrieben.

Forscher der FH Westküste gewinnt mit Ergebnissen des EIP-Projektes „Robotergestützte Unkrautregulierung“ internationalen Wettbewerb der Ernährungs- und Landwirtschaftsorganisation (FAO)

Professor Dr. Stephan Hußmann erforscht, wie der digitale Wandel der Agrarsektoren Europas und Zentralasiens vorangetrieben werden kann. Sein Forschungsprojekt, mit dem er Robotersysteme für den ökologischen Landbau einsetzt, wurde nun im Rahmen eines internationalen Wettbewerbs mit dem 1. Platz in der Kategorie „Innovative landwirtschaftliche Systeme und nachhaltige Landwirtschaft“ ausgezeichnet.

Das Ministerium für Ernährung, Landwirtschaft, Umwelt, Natur und Digitalisierung des Landes Schleswig-Holstein (MELUND) ruft zum dritten Mal zur Teilnahme an der Europäischen Innovationspartnerschaft (EIP) auf. Das Innovationsbüro, angesiedelt bei der Landwirtschaftskammer, unterstützt mit Informationen und berät Antragsteller.
