Project description

The aim of this project is to provide farmers with the best possible support in making fertilization decisions during the growing season. To this end, innovative methods will be used to continuously carry out vegetation-accompanying measurements on representative arable land in Schleswig-Holstein, and the results will be made available on a daily basis via an online platform. At the same time, the portal is to be integrated into the existing structure of the "Bauern-SH" app to also provide farmers with mobile access during labor-intensive phases.
During the project period, about 30 agricultural areas with rapeseed, wheat and maize will be intensively monitored per year. As soon as the entire methodology for improved, vegetation-accompanying recording of the year-related nutrient availability has been sufficiently tested within the framework of the project, a generally applicable guideline with concrete instructions for action will be drawn up so that the sampling can also be carried out by other actors and according to a uniform standard. In this way, the entire methodology can be applied to many areas for complete coverage of the individual regions of a federal state.
